‘Layered Realities’ presents a series of striking impressionistic images that capture the colours, textures, materials and immensity of Tanzania. Faced with the challenge of capturing the abundance and variety of visual stimuli within a single image, Tom layered a number of scenes together to create an intricate narrative within each one.

Cartier-Bresson described ‘The Decisive Moment’ in photography: “It is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as the precise organization of forms which gives that event its proper expression”. This small project on the island of Panarea, in Sicily, was essentially driven by this quote.

Escape is a personal project driven by a contemplative look at the corporate life Tom used to lead. It is an attempt to represent the repetitive aspects of that life in story form, while creating a series of images that, in another order, could develop significantly different narratives.
